Jose Antonio, is a leading research advocate in the field of performance nutrition. He is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of the International Society of Sports Nutrition ( www.theissn.org) and the host (with co-host Carla Sanchez) of the Performance Nutrition radio webcast/podcast ( www.performancenutritionshow.com). He is also the Chief Science Officer (and co-founder) of Javalution ( www.javalution.com) and the V.P. of New Business Development and Science for Supplement Coach ( www.supplementcoach.com). Dr. Antonio is a prolific writer and speaker in the field of sports and performance nutrition, and a popular consultant to industry. Dr. Lopez is one of the co-founders of Physicians
Pioneering Performance, LLCTM™. Clinical
interests include: physical medicine and
rehabilitation, optimal aging, obesity,
and musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Lopez
has had research experience in the molecular
biology of cancer, lipoprotein metabolism,
amino acid metabolism (L-Glutamine and BCAA),
and effects of manipulating macronutrient
composition on athletic performance. Currently,
his research interests lie in applying sports/performance
nutrition to enhancing the functional capacity
and quality of life of patients undergoing
rehabilitation with a wide variety of temporary/permanent
disability. Dr. Lopez has consulted individuals
for bodybuilding, physique enhancement and
transformation. Additionally, he has experience
in providing integrated training (strength
and conditioning), nutritional, and supplementation
programs for clients at all levels of fitness,
including: junior, collegiate, amateur,
and elite/professional athletes. Dr. Lopez
is on the board of examiners of the NBFE
(National Board of Fitness Examiners), and
he is an active member of the ISSN (International
Society of Sports Nutrition). |

Gordon is an Exercise Physiologist and is certified as: a strength & conditioning, performance enhancement and corrective exercise specialist. He has earned an honors degree in Exercise Physiology and is a candidate to receive his Masters degree in Exercise Science with honors. He holds the highest fitness industry certifications including but not limited to: The National Strength & Conditioning Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine, CHEK Institute, USA Weightlifting and The American Academy of Health, Fitness & Rehabilitation Professionals. His areas of academic research include the relationship of force production and inhibition of the myotatic reflex and EPOC rate increases due to anaerobic training versus aerobic conditioning. |

He has over 10 years of fitness industry experience that includes: injury rehabilitation & corrective exercise, cardiac rehabilitation, sports conditioning as well as general fitness & sports nutrition. Gordon believes knowledge is power and is constantly in pursuit of ways to increase his knowledge of training, injury rehabilitation, sports conditioning, nutrition, anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. Doctor Jimenez is one of the esteemed co-founders
of Physicians Pioneering Performance, LLC™,
his interests include: Nutritional-Training
strategies for improved performance in elite
athletes, recreational athletes, and Rehab
population; Complementary and alternative
therapies for athletic performance, musculoskeletal
medicine, rehab patients; Applying evidence-based
data/methodologies, medical acupuncture,
prolotherapy, and herbal remedies. Together
with PPP, other interests include the development
of innovative services/products to remain
at the forefront of “fitness medicine”,
sports medicine, athletic performance, and
rehabilitation. |

Peña, MD |

Dr. Peña has a longstanding personal
history of athletic participation, holds
great clinical interest in the disciplines
of rehabilitation medicine, sports performance,
human biomechanics and kinesiology with
direct applications to sports and musculoskeletal
medicine, injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Dr. Peña is one of the co-founders
of Physicians Pioneering Performance, LLC™,
and he lends his expertise in the application
and development of innovative products and
services for optimizing human performance.
He has experience in bioinorganic chemistry
and the synthesis of novel transport molecules
for human drug delivery. At this time, his
research interests include the application
of sports nutrition to enhancing the functional
capacity of patients with neuromuscular
disorders as well as performance optimization
in the able bodied population. His background
in athletic preparation stems from personal
involvement in strength and conditioning
for martial arts, football, baseball, and
rugby. Dr. Peña is actively involved
as a team physician for various southeast
Texas high school football teams and serves
in a central supervisory role in return
to play management as well as acute injury
treatment and prevention. |

Wiederholz, MD, CFT |

Doctor Wiederholz is one of the co-founders
of Physicians Pioneering Performance, LLC™.
He is currently specializing in the field
of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation,
with plans to further specialize in Pain
Medicine / Interventional Spine. This background
uniquely equips him not only with the broad
clinical knowledge of a well-trained physiatrist,
but also the utility of interventional spine
procedures. This also makes him uniquely
trained to treat pain both medically and
with invasive, non-surgical injection techniques.
His interests lie strongly in sports and
musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Wiederholz
has a strong background in fitness and wellness
through years of personal training, helping
people achieve their fitness goals. As one
of the partners of Physicians Pioneering
Performance, LLC™ he and his colleagues
are able to offer premier medical care to
a wide range of people, including the disabled,
the general public, and athletes of all
kinds. Additionally, he plays a key role
